Not only does this help us accommodate our guests’ schedules better, it enabled us to decrease the noise level by reducing the number of guests who are there at any given time. We’ve also shorted our stylists and spa staffs’ shifts. This way, you’re ensured that your stylist, esthetician massage therapist, or nail tech is fresh and able to fully focus on you. Gordon Salons and Spas were founded by Tony and Pam Gordon in 1999 in Highland Park, Illinois (Gordon in Ravinia), as an answer to the salons they saw at the time. As a fourth-generation hair stylist, Tony and his wife Pam understood that the area needed a world-class salon, with superbly trained staff, a professional atmosphere and warm customer service. "One thing that I saw as a beginning salon owner was a lack of hair designer training. That was the cause for a high attrition rate among hairstylists throughout the profession. It saddened me that so many people failed to realize their dreams of becoming successful stylists. We created a training program that addressed those issues." In 2006, Gordon in Highland Park was added to the group in 2006, and recently expanded to our newest location, Gordon in Wilmette, making four salons and two spas.
