We begin with shorter shifts, especially for our stylists and spa staff. Since eight-hour days are both physically and psychologically grueling, we’ve shorted these shifts to 6 hours to ensure you stay healthy.
As part of our training, we educate you on the fundamentals of working smart. We focus heavily on ergonomics, teaching how to stand and how to hold equipment properly – to ensure your body can withstand the rigors of the job. Our goal is to empower our employees to have a long, rewarding, fulfilling careers.

Salon Coordinators
Our hair salon coordinators offer the first and last impression to our guests. As such, we’re looking for friendly, organized, customer-service oriented people to ensure our clients are thrilled with their experience.We welcome employees with special skills, such as graphic design, videography, photography, graphic design and copywriting – and will find ways to help you utilize your talents.
All salon coordinators will receive training in retail skills, makeup, product knowledge, inventory management, computer operations and more.
Stylists
At our Highland Park and Chicago beauty salons, our stylists are experts at both cut and color. We’re looking for stylists with superb technical skills and an engaging demeanor. All our stylists begin at our salon and then move to a master designer or senior master designer level.Estheticians
At our Highland Park and Chicago day spa, our estheticians are passionate about pampering and believe in a holistic approach to skincare. You must have a talent for hair removal, facials and other body treatments, as well as a soothing demeanor.Qualifications: Esthetics license and two years of experience required, along with high school diploma or GED. Aveda experience preferred.
Nail Technicians
At Gordon’s Highland Park and Chicago spas, our nail technicians are self-motivated and enjoy one-on-one time with our guests. In keeping with our Aveda philosophy, our nail technicians focus on natural, healthy nails and provide a full spa treatment for all our guests to ensure they have a soothing experience.Qualifications: Nail license and two years of experience required, along with high school diploma or GED. Aveda experience preferred.
Salon Management
Our salon managers keep Gordon Salon running. We’re looking for salon managers who are highly motivated, are able to easily multitask and have a knack for mentoring. From managing employees to revenue setting to overseeing inventory, our Highland Park and Chicago hair salon managers are passionate about satisfied customers, beauty and getting results.Qualifications: Previous salon experience and a college degree a plus, along with management experience, excellent customer service and outstanding communication skills.
